Looks great - nice clean look. Interesting to see, how you create the background area. I like the light haze effect. Could be nice, if this could rendered direct, so that no postwork is necessary.

Twi little critics: the DOF at the last image cause a scale model look and the clouds are the same at every view.

Agreed on both, the exaggerated DOF effect is a client wish and basically tries to hide details in the background which actually do not match the real thing and were generated to fill it somehow... The sky not changing is due to personal laziness

good job overall. In the shopping mall, I think correcting the horizontal perspective would benefit the image.

yea, you're right i just tried with PS, but it does not seem to be done easy, it would be probably best to modify the camera position and to rerender it... next time

Impressiv. Only I wonder me, that the cars on the street has flood light at the rear, good for blind chaser.

PS: Could you add numbers to the images?

distort --> lens correction --> horizontal persepctive doesn't work for you?

other images are nice too, I like the crowded exterior shot. Are these 3D people? Looks like quite an amount of work even placing them...

@ Micha: the car trail was done in PS to give the cars some speed look, not exactly photo realistic but worked out somehow, I have to agree that it is quite dangerous especially cause they have no working headlights -> for safety reasons i will consider to turn them on in the next rendering

I will add numbers, good idea...

@ Gijs: i use lens correction all the time to get rid of "vertical lines not running parallel due to different z heights of camera and target" (is there a short term in English for like "falling lines"?), i have not tried it on this kind of issue, the problem is that the picture is already cropped, so i will have to try that on the original...

concerning the exterior, you are right they are 3D people, I have to admit it was a bit of an overkill to use them at that distance (original picture is something like 4500x2250), also RAM wise, but on the other hand i hate to do people for birds eye views in PS because i always have the feeling they don't really fit. Maybe using transparency alpha mapped billboard people would have been the better choice...

you can also do this directly in the rendering with lens shift. I prefer that method to keep my pixels cleaner.

I also tried it a few times, and although i was quite an "try and error" procedure to find the right number (->is there any smarter way?) it worked out... recently I did not use it so often because I like to add some lines from a huge "technical"(-the viewport style with the hidden lines) screenshot in PS to the rendering and that does not work when i use lens shift...

of course when we will have vray toon, that`s a different story

                    best regards

Yes, unfortunately there is not a "guess vertical shift" button in rhino like there is in 3dsmax. And indeed the viewport does not update with the setting. With all those new rendering engines in rhino it is time for a better camera model!

Awesome V-cube! Great work! Nice to see others working with arhitecture/large scenes. Is everything modeled in rhino by the way?

Thanks Joppi! Everything is modeled in my beloved Rhino, apart from some 3D Elements like e.g. the Eames chairs or photoshoped elements of course...
