  • "Zoom in" background

the first image is rendered with vray and second is not.
compare with the first n second image, hdr sky of first image is "zoom in".
    Anybody who can correct this?

    Re: "Zoom in" background

I think this is a function of:
    a) the size of the original 'sky' image
    b) the type of projection specified in the environment slot (e.g. spherical, cubic etc.)
    d) the number of repeats in the u v slots.

To start with, I would try to gradually increase the number of repeats in the environment u v slot and see if that fixes it.

    Good Luck

      Re: "Zoom in" background

      thanks, dcauldwell

of course, i put the same hdr image to the renderer.
check the trees of horizental lines of next two images.
first one is rendered by vray.

i think the space of vray is smaller than the other renderer.
or, it has distorted background space.

the background images is pinouted and showes low quality, because of"zoomed in".

Well, if you are still not happy with the background, and you haven't got a high res hdr to put in the environment slot, then I would just make a billboard to put in the background. That way you have more control over whats happening. Just add an emmissive layer and increase the value until it looks right.
I tend to use images in the environment slot only to create window refelections, and even for this I sometimes resort to billboards, because you have better control over them.

        Good Luck

yep thats true , give hdri map for reflects and make "bilboard" by the model i set resolution/scale , this is the best way ;]

ok. but why are you zoomed out so far? I'm not too sure what you have done here.
Have a look at chillrender's post which shows an example.

                Re: "Zoom in" background

                Thanks, David.

i would show you the deferent appearence of spherical background.
first image was rendered by vray, second is not.

vray's background sphere is distorted, i think it's cone shaped.
so it shows the reason of "zoom in" n focusouted.

i will use your method for background, but i wanna check it why it's appearence is not good.

                good luck.

                  Re: "Zoom in" background

the sort of 'distorted' image in the background is optimised for insertion in the 'environment' slot with the 'spherical' setting. If you are inserting an image on a billboard it needs to be a 'regular' sky image.

of course, i did do apply 'spherical' setting in the environment tab.
