Render of a reception desk within a new office building. This is my second interior render with V-Ray. Its not intended to look too realistic as its purely conceptual for a client presentation.

Your feedback would be much appreciated

    Thanks,

    Nick

FYI: The orgiginal size was 3000x2250. Rendered in 3.25hrs using 3 machines, 1x dual core and 2x 3.2Ghz P4's

I also like the glow you have achieved.
The rest of the lighting is very even. I would suggest some spot lighting, maybe casting pools of light on the stone wall at the back and on the desk itself, and maybe get some reflections in there with a hdri in the 'environment slot', but that may be too realistic. I have to admit, its difficult to know when to stop!

        beautiful simple and controlled-

        my critique:

give the wood texture a bit more punch - maybe it is the color that turns me off.

stick a few bits of office paraphernalia on the desk to reduce its monotony

Cheers for the comments, i admit the wood and stonework are quite flat, issues sourcing textures/bump maps etc.

The desk illumination was created by placing a curved emissive material behind the frosted glass. The glass itself is actually a translucent material, thus creating the softened glow.
