This is my first render with texture images. Project of small architecture in the village - dustbin. In some time I will post more images with lantern and bench. The main aim of that was to check how the bitmaps and displacement reacts in different envioromental light.

    C&C most welcomed

    Re: small architecture

The materials are good and realisty. But I think the lights are not as good as the materials.
    I like Vray for SketchUp.

        Re: small architecture

Lamper, try also one of my HDRI, since you want to see different lightning situations. Check my posts, to get the link for my map( HDRI), or maybe you have yours. I think will look great since it's like a "product render" kind, just the product, without anything else to distract the eye..
Hope you get nice results, and don't forget to show us too!
        GOOD LUCK!

              Re: small architecture

Can you post your scene for those studies, or explain how you did your lighting? Also, the wood and perforated metal materials would be nice :P

                Re: small architecture

I love the simplicity of the designs and the layouts with the raw look of the materials, awesome work!!

Would you care to share that timber material?

Ah, thank you very much for the help. I've had trouble getting the perforated metal to scale correctly though. Any suggestions?

                        Re: small architecture

not a problem tronik Mhm to scale it right make vraylinked matterial useing as a bitmap in sketchap "mask only". Although wholes wan't be so big as in the bitmap ( don't know why ) , but they will scale in the same proportions as your bitmap in sketchup.

to make perforated metal in object with smooth ages ( rounded ) check this link

Thanks for the help again lamper : )
I still can't get my rectangular lights to look the way yours do in your 4 renders, even using your scene, but I'll get a hang of it I'm sure
