        Speechless....
I don't know if you modeled that or how you did it,
but your texturing technique, and the rendering it's
really a delight for my eyes!
Amazing work from you, like always, but I wish that you
        "visit" us more often!
        Congratulation once again!

            Re: Going places...

            Thank you guys
            It's fun to be back.
It looks as if all of you have raised the quality of work a lot in this gallery, to such a high level I almost hesitate to post my stuff.

This scene was modeled using the new 'subsmooth' plugin Whaat made for subdivision modeling.
The textures are projected onto the surface. The downside is that the tangential sides of objects look distorted , so if I was to make a side view on that pillars,I would need to project the texture again from a different angle.

Sketchups uv-map/texturing tools are soo limited. I hope some day it will have a 'wrap texture around object'(unfold?) as an addition to the projected method.

            Regards,
            Biebel

              Re: Going places...

I heard about the Subdivide and Smooth plugin.

I have a few questions about it. maby you can help me if you want to.

              1. Do you have a lot of bugs whit the plugin
              2. When you afe using proxy object whil vray render the surfice_proxy material. becoulse than you cant see the actual object you want to render.

              Best regards

                    Biebel,

I have seen this at scf and i called your style "biebelicious". im happy you rendered this wiht vray becasue i dont really like those watermark of fry everywhere. you seems really enjoying Whaat's subdivide and smooth. one thing i really want to understand is how you mapped the texture. The texture projection was so perfect and you cant deect any stretches.

                      Re: Going places...

                      Thanks for the comments.

                      @Nomer,
The stretches are there, it's just that you don't notice them. The blur off course helps .
The projecting of textures is view dependant. Another view would mean re-doing the projection of the texture from a different angle.

                        Re: Going places...

Another scene where I used the 'subsmooth' plugin in combination with 'Joint-PushPull' and 'surface tools'. All in the scene is 3D.

I initially wanted to do the animation, but I had to give up due to crashing of VfSU on the polycount . I had to ditch the 3D people that were originally there, just to be able to do the still .

Raw render, except for the extra vignetting I added afterwards:

All in the scene is 3D.

ow, so you're using those xfrog trees too?

                            Thanks Migz
I had a hard time with the 3D trees.
2D clipmap billboards are easier to use..and less destructive to SU/Vray.

                              Re: Going places...

Now, that´s something i´m still learning. How could you make the light areas and the dark areas so soft?? And your sky is blue! My sky is always a mix with blue and some horrible color that i can never get away even changing ozone and turbidity. Tell us a little more about this render. I´m not gonna cry for settings so if you just could talk a little bit about what engine, camera, background, time render you use that would be very kind from you.

                              Cheers!

*ps: What the hell is Xfrog trees? I need to put my hand on something like that! ahaha!
