  • First Post... Personal Project.

    Hi there!!

This is my first post in this forum. Unfortunatelyn it isn´t my first render with V-Ray for Rhino.

I´ve been making tests with it for several months but I´ve not developed a good rendering yet.

I know my level is not good but ...

    Congratulations for your works.

    Best Regards.

    Re: First Post... Personal Project.

    Hola Sony_rojo,

        Re: First Post... Personal Project.

        Hi again!!

In first place, thanks for all, fpedrogo. I will try to do what you told me, now I show you this image. The blue ambient is because I used a bitmap of a lake for the enviroment; yes, maybe it was a mistake. But I want to get reflections on the front while I don´t get HDRI images for the enviroment. I still have problems with this part of the model. It doesn´t seem real at all.

Yes, I saw the Materials Express, but I´m working with Rhino 3 yet. I think that those utilities are very useful. Good work by the developers.

About the model, this is a part of a project that I made some time ago, it´s a power supply module for marinas. You can get more information at www.plusmarine.com.

        Thanks.

          Re: First Post... Personal Project.

          Hi
The only thing that I don't like, is the yellow material. I believe that you are using a bump map to give it texture. If the case should be plastic, then try this setting for your plastic.
Reflection Layer - fresnel (default and Reflection Glossiness 0.8
          Diffuse Layer- your color
and if you still needed the bump map, you can use it.
Do the same for the gray color material.

I like the look of the red material and the blue material. Also if you want you can use the background map in the material editor to put the like HDR of the lake, for the metal material, instead of the environment. If you do that the HDR will only affect the metal material, not the whole scene.

          Best

          Fernando
