Since I got laid-off, ( nothing to do at home ) I'm practicing my render with vray.
I know my glass not that good...Please if anyone has a good setting for glass ( I want the transparent where you can see the interior with a bit of reflection), right now my glass looks foggy and not that shiny as i want.. I tried tweaking it but no luck..

ckosio. if you want a little bit reflection and can see the inside, what you will do is to adjust the reflection layer's fresnel color only. the darker the color the more you can see the interior.

what you mean, there are two colors, one light grey(fresnel color) and other dark grey(refraction color), witch one you mean.

I noticed too that visopt options plays a big role in the scene.. i test different visopt with the 2 different glass in the scene..and ended up different reflections..using MADOext visoptin the scene are hard to create a glass like what you have(dcauldwell).. try it, so we all learn.. ;D

                  ande,

indeed david c. is a great resource with architectural glass. and he studied this well.
as for what im saying, im refering with "fresnel color".
as we all know when we see glass material in an angle (using the default glass) you wont see the scene behind this that much because of the reflection. i really found this as absurd especially if you are staying in dark areas. to correct that you have to adjus the fresnel colol way way up dark.. and you will notice that less refelction would be.

Its a while since I did the shopfront so I'm not sure, but I think I used this (which is quite fast), which is in the downloads section

                      gi_irmap_medium_ext-phcam

                      it is:-
"settings for external, architectural render, with physical camera. Suggest putting your own bitmap in the 'environment' slot to provide reflections for glass"
