  • Modeling Exercise

    Hi everybody,
in this scene, if I'm not learned nothing about rendering, I definitely learn about modeling. I draw everything, line by line, and I can't say that it's fun or easy or hard, but I can say that I'll never do that again! It's time consuming, it's frustrating, and then you see that you have models better then yours ;D
The scene, it wasn't my idea, I sow something similar, and I try to do it myself.
OK.. I'll be happy to get some C&C from you guys, happy rendering for all!

    Stefan

        Re: Modeling Exercise

great models Stephan!! but at times u cant use models that are out there u have a design and thats the one u have to use so in that case there is no going around modeling. And remember there are allot of time saving ways to model especially 4 symmetrical objects. keep it up!

Hy, sometime, it's good model something. I like your result. Dont you work with components? If yes, when you smooth one component all the others will be smoothed to.

            Congratulations, very nice work...
            (what cheers means?)

              Re: Modeling Exercise

Thanks for comment ande, yes I work with components, but I forgot to smooth edges, and then, I was moving around in wire-frame , so I didn't noticed until I get the final result. Cheers means good luck, and it's used mostly when you have a drink with your friends.
              Cheers,
              Stefan

Interior render with HDRI? Nice one! The stair is just awesome. I can imagine your hard work. You did those spider glass too? Line by line? Oh, lord!

                Cheers!

                  Re: Modeling Exercise

Yes kgoku hdri and line by line. It was hard but funny to work, and like Nomer said to me, you feel kind of proud when you see it finished. It is easy when you use some ruby's.
                  Cheers!

Beautiful work Stefan, the displacement on the wall is amazing. Flawless render!

                      Re: Modeling Exercise

Thanks EartM! Sorry, but I will disappoint you, but on the wall it's just geometry , a diffuse map and the corresponding bump map. I never get the displacement to work in my materials, or maybe I'm too lazy..or dumb
Your water it's perfect by the way, and I can't tell witch it's better- yours or mike's.
                      Regards,
                      Stefan

                        Re: Modeling Exercise

Smart move using geometry instead of displacement.....should've known.

My water came from Mike's settings, just toned down. I've learned water is all about reflection. Without a good HDRI to reflect....your water won't be as nice. The same water settings will also look totally different from one HDRI to the next.

I have to learn how to use displacement properly, seems like biebel is the king of that stuff. I'm a big HDRI fan by the way! I use one in every scene from some time now.

i have seen this at SCF and i must say i was really impressed this modelling. you also put those elements in the simple render thread and now i have seen this being composed. very nice indeed stefan.
