Oh no I total know my little computer ain't going to cut it. In fact I've talked to my bank this week about a small biz loan to get a better computer and the software I need. Unfortunately I need acad and max first and they're not wanting to give me much of a loan so I may have to stick with vrayfree for the first couple renderings. Hope I don't need displacement.

By the way on the grass scene I reopened and saved it recently with vray demo and I'm guessing it reset the setting I was using. But I rendered it using almost default settings with exception of I did have GI on w/ preset on low, adaptive AA on at default, HSph @ 50 & Interp samples @ 50, secondary multiplier @ .7, direct subd @ 5, direct depth @ 2, & environement skylighting on at default. With that I got around 30 mins.

Good, I was worried about you and the celeron

If a might suggest, I personaly would go with autocadLT, just use it "clean up" the cad and do your modeling in max over imported linework. Then you could afford V-Ray and probably model faster once you got used to it.

Good luck making the jump, I wish you well,
