      10x for the comment DW
the furry effect is just a simple noise map used in both displacement and bump.
I use different settings according to the scene, but the evermotion models 3dmax settings are a good way to see different settings at work.(settings which are similar to VrayfSU)
This render was done at 2500x1500 and took 2h on an Intel quad Q6600 with 8Gb RAM.
      Hope this helps

        yeah great man..

could you maybe give us a tutorial about the displacement settings. because it is giving me a so mutch problems.

So if I read correct you used settings from evermotion made in MAX.. and copy`t the settings in to the VRSU rendersettings?

        regards

Re: light test - Henning Larsen studio

DW : u can't really copy the settings from V-ray for MAX to SU...i was saying that by
looking at those settings you can see what settings help in which case....and
you can do the same in SU...not copy, but adapt. I sometimes used the default settings
            because they served my objective

As for the displacement...i found that you must always make a linked material
and then displace it, u can't add a displaced vray material to the group because it will render odd or not at all.

MIGZ : good to be back , thx for the reply

I now now how to work the disp. taoklai thanks man.

Do you know if VRSU is using al your 8GB of RAM because it is not an 64bit. application? I am asking this because I want to buy 4GB extra of RAM myself but I am not sure If Vray will use it while rendering.
