Oriental + African + contemporary

a study of some feautres from different oriental and african design. I modelled the masks using a plugin called soap and bubbles. i did my displacement map for the bamboo in photoshop and some of my filters using filterforge. no Post processing this time.

Great image nomer. I always love checking your stuff out cause it always seems to have an original/aristic quality that a lot of people (including myself) have a hard time achieving sometimes. But about this soap and bubbles thing...is that an SU plugin? What exactly is it and where could I find it?

thanks steeler. i actually encountered soap and bubble through those ruby link provided as sketchucation. i can t remember the site exactly. but you can google it. anyhow this plugin is the same ruby plugin that we can use in modellin all those post tension nettings etc. the key is to draw bezier curves and you can provide surface. you can also add some bubbles to raise areas in the surface like the smoove of sandbox.

Very nice work! Lighting looks great and the mask is amazing. I'm off to find a soap and bubble plugin of my own!
