          Thanks for the comments.

Brim: I spent most of my time working on the lighting and the glass. Texturing the furniture is next. Leather Mies chair on it's way

I'll be posting an updated image tomorrow.

            Chris,
Glad you found the tutorials helpful.
            Nice start BTW.

            Comments would be:
            1. Barcelona chairs are too blocky and textures as has been mentioned.
            2. It looks like you may need to change the Environment> Reflection colour to white and increase the multiplier to blowout the sky in the reflections...the sky currently appears grey in the cupboard reflections.

You probably have fixed these already...look forward to seeing the next version.

It's obvious you have done arch.viz before...which package were you using? Lightscape?

Just a quick update. I changed the view a little to show all of the unit.
Haven't had enough time to go into modelling changes yet.

                DejaVu:
Thanks for the comments. I'll be working on those tonight.
                1. The Barcelona chairs are a library part from Archicad. That's why they are so blocky. I'll work on them later.
                2. I will give this a go.

I have an Architecture background and was taught to model in AutoCAD and learnt how to light and texture with VIZ 3. Only the basics.
I never managed to get a hold of lightscape but have seen some very impressive images produced using it.
VIZ 4 was my intro to radiosity/global illumination. I struggled for ages.
                Then along came Vray!!!!

My only issue now is learning how to texture well, and also how to model using VIZ/MAX.

....and saving up to buy Vray.

How did you learn MAX and VRay?

                Chris.

1 class at high school taught me the basics of max, and then i got advanced by taking classes that told me that max was crap. That pushed me to push my limits and prove my teachers wrong. :P Vray was all about getting an internship and having to do interiors with Brazil (holy hell I could not get good results) so I demo'd around with Vray and learnt from these forums and practice.

End point, push your limits, and practice everything, and when that doesn't work, it doesn't hurt to ask for help.
                  5 years and counting.
