stefanq,
Good work. I think the scene would send a better feeling if there would some internal light as well turned-on (just a thought)
Tell me please where did you assigned the specular map?
P.s. I think that I've seen that kitchen layout somewhere before.
Hi 40th, thanks for comment, it was a rush work, but I like the potential of that scene, and I think I will work on it on my free time. That floor material it's kind of ...nice, so it's not the first time when I put it in my scenes, even that in this scene I'm not very happy about how it looks.
About the specular map, I think I've made some kind of tutorial, and you can find it here: http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=c...&topic=4089.15
and this it's where I used that floor material: http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=c...0&topic=3943.0
1. my quick guess is you use hdri and sun with camera off. im basing this based on yuor previous comment about the hardness of shadow of the sun using hdri. hopefully in the future, this will be addressed in their next build.
2. perhaps im a bit peaky with this. but make it into an experiment. rotate those floor tiles into 90 degrees instead of 45, you will find the composition is much better.
3. those blurry reflection, increase your subdivision from default 8 to probably 16 or 20 and you will have much better blurry reflection.
Hello ckosio, I'm glad you like it. I have HDRI in deed, and I used the same visopt that I use for some time now. gamma correction 2.2 and 2.2 , correct RGB and correct LDR textures checked, max depth 5, HDRI in GI and in background, Adaptive QMC -1 60, antialiasing Catmul-Rom, color mapping HPV exponential, irradiance map -3/0 light cache 1000.
Nomer you read my image like a book! And yes, it will be nice to control the sketchup shadows as well. I have 20 subdivisions on every single blurry reflection, but it's funny and sad in the same time, because I forgot the noise threshold to default (0.01). I know that 0.005 it's decent for good results. Shame on me. Thanks for comment.
Ooh, just cross my mind something....about the sharp shadows...you know there is a ruby called "fog" and I have it, so I'm thinking to apply the fog and see what's going to happen. I'll let you know about that.
Regards,
Stefan
