xfrog trees..something wrong?

  • xfrog trees..something wrong?

    after couple a times of trying, i got an image like below.
    back side materials screwed up. just only one side mapped when imported.
    did i do something wrong in max or is this bug of sr1?

          are you replacing any texture? because i got that one once, when i replaced TIF for JPEG, i solved it by linking the TIF but after that changing the linked texture to the JPEG on the materials menu only, not in sketchup materials.

            thanks, nektares .

            im gonna explain my process.

            1.in xfrogtune...export obj.
            2.in max.........import .obj and .mtl
            when import .mtl, errors occured. so theres no map imported.
            apply jpeg and test render. render result is good.
            export .3ds
            3.in su..........import .3ds
            pick the leave in material tab of su and apply to model.
            apply alpha in su material.
            4. render........results above showing.

            any problems in my process?

              very different to my process, i do this:

              1.in xfrog 3.5 export to .3ds to the folder with the maps.
              2.in su import .3ds
              3.link the .TIF and replace linked material with JPEG format and add Alpha
              4.render

                the process discribed above, i searched threadsof the exsampes of xfrog trees in the gallery.

                anyway, ill try your method and post the render results.

                btw, "3.link the .TIF and replace linked material with JPEG format and add Alpha" means
                to "do that in the material tab of vfsu" ?

                    the problems of first image shows that uv mapping scale of front side is defferent to of back side.

                    im trying to import .3ds file made by nektares method and render again, i got same results.

                              mainly Xfrog 3.5
                              cause Xfrog 3.5 can reduce polygons like Xfrogtune do.
                              and it can export .3ds directly.
                              most of all, i can change the shape of trees as i want.
