This is my first real attempt at an interior scene using HDRI as the light source and a bill board in the background, I've seen some amazing renders by the likes of Stefan, Free Agent and Nomer etc ... and i would like to eventually be of that standard, so a critique and some constructive advice would be very much appreciated, thanks.

Re: New to Vray - Please Critique
Hi Adamski,
It's a nice job but I have some comments.
1- The scene which is showing through the window is very bright, consequently the room must look a little bit brighter because of he light coming from the window.
To solve this I suggest to do one of the following:
Either increase the lighting amount inside the room,or decrease the lighting in the image(which you are using on a billboard)to match the lighting in the room. You can do that using any photo editing software such as PS.
2 - The reflection of the window on the mirror should be identical to what we see in the window.
To solve this I suggest to do one of the following:
Either put the image in the BACKGROUND slot, or attach the billboard directly to the window from out side.

Re: New to Vray - Please Critique
Thanks for your comments Pacha, I'm an intern architect so I'm trying to make an impression in the office hehe, but your comments are subtle changes and thats exactly what I was asking for, so thanks for that, I'll repost an improved revision when I have time

here's how i believe it is:
Adamski,
I see some stains on the TV and on the carpet. It's probably a low Adaptive Amount problem. take a look at this thread: http://asgvis.com/index.php?option=c...25446#msg25446

Re: New to Vray - Please Critique
Cheers 40th, ive been lurking around this forum alot before I actually posted anything and some of your work has definately caught my eye. Especially your recent post of the apple scene, what's your secret of making your final renders look near enough like a photograph ... never mind 'photo-realistic' them apples, especially the revised images, look 'photo-actualistic' haha! Any further tips?
Thanks, Adam

Re: New to Vray - Please Critique
Well tahnk you Adamski. But there's no secret, and i'm pretty new to Vray myself and steel learning. i just use physical camera, Irradiance map, Light cache.
QMC Sampler:
Adaptive Amount- 0.85
Noise Threshold- 0.005
Usually i adjust the rendered image in photoshop for final 'touches'.
If you want to learn more about V-ray I would recommend you to go to http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/
Best of luck

Re: New to Vray - Please Critique
Wow! I'm completely new to this forum (actually this is my first post) and new to vray, sketchup or any other similar program. I just teach kids and thought sketchup was a good program to start them in 3D design world. But i didn't know it could be so powerful. I'm started to make my first tries but I'm a bit ashamed to show them as yours look so good. I'm really trying to learn it (just for fun, because I love it) and I will post my first experiment soon, I hope. Adamski, I would like my first render to be like yours, but I'm afraid that's a bit difficult :P
Thank you all for your teachings
