  • My very first render (my kitchen)

Hi all. After several days watching this forum, I have finally decided to try with my ever first render. It's the first time in my life I use any 3D program. I started to learn SU a couple o weeks ago, because I wanted to teach kids a simple program for 3D drawings. Then, I discovered V-ray and started playing. I have learned many many things in this forum (and copied some of them ) thank you all for this. Finally, I have spent this sunday trying to reproduce my home kitchen. C&C very welcome. don't be hard . I hadn't used design program in my life, but just any autocad 2D plans that were sent to me and only to print them. I also attach a real picture of the kitchen to compare, as I thought that reproducing a real place was easier for starting.

My very first problem (appart that it is not very detailed and years away from the things I've seen around) is that "noise" problem on the freezer and the smoke extractor. I have tried with different engines, but can't get any better. It's just a simple "mirror" material own made by just removing the fresnel, as the chrome materials but with lower reflection glossiness. Why don't I get any noise with the chrome material (RG:1) and I do with this (RG: 0.3)?

    Thank you all in advance.

    The VfSU one:

And the real one (a bit more messy ):

You don't get noise on the chrome because it has perfectly clear reflection. The Noisy materials have glossy reflections. Increase the subdivs in the reflection layer and you should see improvement, as well as increased render times mind you.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

Thanks, thomthom. I've done it and the result is much better, but I still don't get the desired result. I'll keep on trying and will show the results.

      Regards

What VfSU version do you use? Maybe it helps ti set QMC/DMC sampler size to 0.85...
