you can still make that cut in max, there is just different ways to go about it...there is also a plugin script that will allow you to pna/rotate/zoom in the middle of a cut.

the epoly tools that came out in R5 made a huge difference in Max's modeling tool set....ring->connect is now my favorite way to dice up a mesh.

but like you said....the 'this-is-better-than-that' arguement is pointless because at the end of the day your ability with a piece of software will most likey make a larger difference than any difference in the actual software.

That's good if that exist. Don't take me wrong by asking but have you tried modeling in Maya?

But exept from the actual tools Max has a HUGE disadvantage. It crashes way to often and most of the time it makes the project I worked with when it crashed corrupt!

But like you said. No point to argue about it. I all comes down to what you like.

Think this have gone out of topic now and if anybody wants to keep on discussing this we need to move this to the Off Topic Forum.

Actually someone did kind of start one. Not sure why in the vray free topics but here's the link:

To Basse: Have you tried the diamond look on the fish? It'd be interesting to see the effect.

        Thanks.

I found that forum right after I posted the last message here.

I don't have any really good experience of doing diamond material.

          Any suggestions?

I haven't really experimented to get a diamond look but I've read about it here:

            http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/elvis/dispersion.html

Could start off there with basics.
