  • Interior WIP

Hi everyone. I'm trying to get a good interior and your help would be very apreciated. First of all, i don't know how to make a good floor material. I have seen repository's materials and made my floor acording to it's settings (default fresnel reflection, highlight glossiness = 0.8, Reflection glossiness = 0.8, subdivs = 22). That's what i get:

I would like to know how to avoid those blotches in the wall (I've set HSph Subdivs = 200, Samples = 150. are they high enough?)

    Re: Interior WIP

Set the QMC Sampler Adaptive.A @0.85, and Noise sampler @0.005.
I've made a test scene with a emissive material.
    Surfaces Material : default fresnel reflection, highlight glossiness = 0.8, Reflection glossiness = 0.8, subdivs = 22
*settings are written on the bottom of each image.

on this one you can see the splotches

Light Cash samples @1000 smoothed a bit the splotches but not enough.

QMC Sampler Adaptive.A and Noise sampler changed. No Splotches.

        Re: Interior WIP

Thanks for your quick answer, 40th. I've done the render again with your settings, and wall's splotches are gone! many thanks again.

But now it's still the problem of the strange bright areas. I've achieved the best result by setting highlight glossiness to 0 but some of them appear again and again.

And antialiasing seems not to work very well, i've set up the image sampler adaptive DMC 5-10 and see how it shows. Many thanks again for your help!

            Re: Interior WIP

            You're welcome Ibontxu,
Anti Aliasing (AA) is found at the Image Sampler section. you just need to increase the subdivis. the Antialiasing filters also can make an effect on it. Imo those filters can be imitated in ps without taking render-time like those filters.
            Here some help from 3dspot.com:
            Anti Aliasing/Image Sampler
Caustics (the other problem you had)

I made a AA comparison test:

              Re: Interior WIP

For those pixels, go to color mapping, and check "clamp output" and "sub-pixel". You will get rid of your problem. And for the floor (wooden floor), the best settings I found, is IOR 1.3( in reflection tab/M/first fresnel) and 0.85 for reflection glossiness.
              Good Luck!

                  Congrats!

One little comment on the books, they very exceptional in term of color tone. But maybe it's just me...

If you refer that since they are so showy they monopolize the whole attention... I agree, am going to try to solve it. Thanks!

Hello again, it's me with a new problem. I've changed the sun and now it seems that when it hits the floor lamp's glass produces some strange lights. See:

I know that the vases are not the problem because i've rendered the scene without them. Does someone know what can i do? thanks.

It's reflection Caustics. I'm not so good at this one, but i can refer you to a few place that'll help you:

Many thanks, i'm reading them but I don't have Caustics enabled in global options... is it possible to have this kind of problems without enabling caustics? and if I enable them... render time becomes almost infinite!
