the setting is pretty close to the default. the lighting i depend solely on the sun with the shadow size of 2 instead of 1 (everyhting is default). One thing i really took care is to lower the noise level to .001 and increase the IRadiance map to 100, 20 insteacd of the the default 50,20.

my main thing really is to take care of my materials settings, particularly in increasing the subdivision in their blurry reflections....

Great work Nomer! The floor is perfect, nice touch on the blinds.
          Two questions for you:
          What was the rendering time?
Why are the corner between the ceiling and the walls are shaded/darker than the rest of the ceiling?

rendering time i guess was half an hour. im using quad core.
as for the ceiling. initially that was also my question, so i checked if there as a gap between the ceiling ang the wall. i conclude perhaps the light (sun) source is exactly behind those areas. so they became blind spot. that was my guess though.

i noticed two things Norma, the first is that there is no reflection of the exterior in the floor. is the background image post processed? and two your render time i find is really good is that really the power of the quad core? or is it that there is no glass materials in the window? your reply will help me allot with my work flow. thanx that's a great image.

there is a glass material. the clear glass vismat of the typical vray (just checking affect alpha, affect shadow.
as for the background, yeah its just an inserted image in photoshop. i saved the render image in png, then if you open it in photoshop, you can insert easily the background.

I thought so too, but wasn't sure of it, for instance the largest & brightest reflection on the floor should bee greenish (grass refl.)

when you render be sure you should have a save alpha. then after the render output is done you have both the render image and alpha image. if you open your image in photoshop you will see the background is transparent. just create another layer and put it in the bottom of the rendered image. you can just move the image then and match the horizon line with the rendered image.
