    Re: Some recent work

nice textures, lighting and the glass with nuts is amazing just one thing the model lacks detail the and edges of some items are a bit too too sharp.

      Very nice work.
Very clean, good material work, only the key should have more reflection. in the first image the flower looks plastic, because where it meets the table it stays straight/unfolded. oh and maybe some reflection for the flower mat. In 1st image it looks like the page is floating. one last thing but it's just if to be picky, is too add water to the bamboo vase.

Keep on the good work Chisel.

to make the water, it should be shaped as the walls of the vase.
            1. Make a rectangular
            2. Position it so its intersects with the vase and goes thru it's center.
            3. Intersect the rect. with the model.
            4. Cut the surface vertically where's the vase's center.
            5. Cut the surface horizontally (the water's level)
            6. Erase the unnecessary edges/corners.
Now you got the profile of the water.
            7. Use 'follow me' tool. (Tutorial on the follow me tool)
            8. Scale up the water shape a bit, so it's inserts the glass just a little.

Nice renders. I like the light and textures.

There is a few things that could have made it better.

The close-up renders: the edges looks unnaturally sharp. Pretty much everything has a slight round edge to it. You don't notice it in the first one, as the camera is far enough away, but in the other it's very notable.

The other thing was the paper. It doesn't look like it behaves like paper. It looks like it doesn't have any weight, or that it's much too stiff for a piece of paper.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

i love it camionero. the rendering is good, and you have really some good models there. i like the vase, the glass material, paper materials etc. although some edges still noticeable but the attempt to use vray to present a concept was nicely devliver. i love that style. i hope you post some more like this.

another thing DOF would be really good to explore with this approach. look how photographers use it.
