  • Audi R8 - Freeway

Hi, folks, I`ve just finished this render, just to make some tests involving high-speed images, with the Motion Blur filter of PS, and I`ve liked the results.. any comments or critics, are all welcome..

A fantastic render of a fantastic car!

Is the polygon count on the model a little low though? Looking at the wing mirror, there are some jagged edges.

Thanks! I think that the model does have a good poly count, but I think I`ve forgot to explode the wing mirror, and regroup it togheter, since this is a problem encountered within V-Ray for SketchUp 1.05.30, which in some cases, the reflection of the material seems all edgym even when the face is smoothed. Exploding and regrouping the object solves this problem.. but I could see that only at the end of the render..

Nice render, and even better car. I want one of these before I die even if it means I'm driving a 30 year old R8 when Im 65 hahah!

Or the material is applied to the group/component instead of the faces. That also makes smooth geometry faceted. And it's "fixed" by exploding and regrouping as SU transfer the material from the group/component to the geometry inside.
Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

Yeah, in any case, I exploded the components and regrouped, and used the Remove C-G Materials plugin, which applies the objects materials to the geometry itself, and it seems all worked pretty fine. I made another render to test the results, but, this time, it's a night shot:
