Hey guys. This is project for a house which has a basement which is pretty much just storage space right now. These images were made for the client. Credits go to the people who I nicked the 3d models from, from the 3D warehouse .

(The IES lights looked better on my screen before uploading)

    Nice renders Steve.
I would suggest you to use an AA, especially on the 1st image where you can see the shadows from the blinds. Check out this Examples
In 2nd image the plates are looking very low on polys (faceted).
3rd image is not illuminated enough imho.
The 4th and 5th are very nice, the only thing i would say about is the Ies lights that look black with white dot, and a bit sticking out too much of the ceiling.

    Good work Steve,
    Keep posting

      Re: Basement conversion

      Thanks!

For the first image, I presume by the blinds, you mean the decking from the balcony? I read the examples and am still trying to digest the information even after a second read! Very difficult for my brain to comprehend haha.

The second image, yes, I realised that. I'm sure I could have changed it, but I just rendered the images for the client and wasn't too concerned at that point. In future images, I will definitely try and improve on upping the polys on certain objects .

The third image was kind of trying to show that there would be some light in the kitchen but not that great an amount. The client did complain a little about the light, but then after seeing these images, he decided to not have the balcony and extend the basement further, which in fact reduces the amount of light entering the basement further!

I like the 4th and 5th images the most . I didn't really notice the lights that much before actually. Thanks for pointing that out! In the future, I'll create another face for the lights and put it into another layer for when the lights are not on.

Thanks for the advice! Shame I'll be finishing my job/placement next week . Will be going back to Uni and won't have as much variety of work to post. I've still got some old renders that I might post up though .
