  • the modern replica (WIP)

Hi there to one and all,
If you guys have seen this post "simple interior" you have come across a great render by Omar...
i have asked him if he would mind that i did did a modern version of his render...
    and he said:

so here is the WIP image...
as soon as i'm done i'll post a final render

As you can see it's just a clay render because i have not created the materials yet, but that will happen when i'm happy with the placement of the components and lighting of the scene.

I have used a few designer furniture for this:

    LeCorbusier LC2 Sofa
    LeCorbusier LC2 Armchair
    Prouve Gueridon Table
    Aaron R Thomas table lamp

a quick update, the image was rendered on a low quality just to try out the materials, if i get good comments about the materials, i'll go ahead and do some final touches and a higher res render and post the final image then...

      Re: the modern replica (WIP)

      sure is modern

      Looking good.

I like the table a lot. ( where is it from?)

The wall paneling looks OK. Perhaps change the gray to be a little lighter? I would also see if changing the width of the B&W panels looks better.

      Nice work.

i modeled it based on a google search i did, found on this link, where i got a couple of dimensions...
also the lamp was also modeled the same way, the sofa and chair were 3ds models i had and converted to to sketchup and cleaned up a bit because they come in to sketchup a bit to heavy on faces and edges which specially on the chrome railing are not needed so these where modeled and i kept the 3ds cushions so i can have a more realistic looking char & sofa.....

i can share the SKP model if you like....

I'll try the lighter gray out, and the B&W ones i did try a wider one but i was not happy with it, that is why i gave that one a go... which i liked best... but i'll most definitely have a go with the lighter gray panels..

again thank you for you comment mate, they are really apreciated.

i think you need more light on that scene the floor is almost black cant see any texture ..and less chromatic aberration ...

ok no problem, i noticed that to,
because when i rendered the scene without the materials, like the one in the first post, i get good lighting, but because i have pretty dark materials i think the current lighting doesn't cut it, thus the scene is lacking on light, but these are things one over looks until someone else points them out..

i will most definitely address that detail mate, thnx for the advice

              Re: the modern replica (WIP)

              Final image... hopefully ;D
              edited details...
              chromatic aberration
              moldings-lighter gray
              lighting-brighter

normally i use 2 difrent visopt to render, one for (almost) quick preview renders, and another for final renders... due to my DUAL CORE LAPTOP both take quite a while to render but hey, the price i pay for not investing in a better one :P ;D

but alas here's the final image

Where are you getting your models from?

I assume that is what you are talking about.

Try the warehouse. Google 3d warehouse. They are usually lower poly pieces.

                    Re: the modern replica (WIP)

hi, some feedback bro: theres too much noise on the scene, the wood material needs some bump, the lightning is little flat and the lightning that came out of the lamp iluminating the scene i think is not the proper one, it should iluminate better things near to it cause right now looks like if you only apply a emisive material to it, so try to use some rect lights for the lamp and if you are using them, then increase the intensity, hope this helps., greetings
