oh god. that's it?
I did a google search for WIP late last night:
1) WIP is an interactive package with a simple to use command line user interface used to produce high quality graphical output.
2) Women in Publishing Homepage
3) Reddi-wip whipped cream is the fun, convenient dessert solution
for easy fresh fruit and other dessert recipes.
4) Web Interoperability Page
5) WIP - Women in Prison
6) WIP - Women in Politics

Well, I heard something funny that's related to this about 3 years ago (it's probably just an Urban Legend). Some guy I know reported that he was at a tech tradeshow and he was talking with some other guy who had very little experience in the IT field but was trying to sound as though he knew what he was talking about. Well, this acquaintance of mine started talking shop with him and was throwing out a bunch of acronyms to describe network processes, etc. The other guy just kept nodding and agreeing. But the last term that was used was in the sentence, "Well, of course you know that that's just another TLA." The response was something along the lines of, "Yeah, I have experience with those." To which my acquaintance replied, "Oh, you have experience with Three Letter Acronyms?"

That's funny. I remember when I first worked at Xerox's Center for Research and Development, I was so confused because we had a ton of TLAs. Xerox had actually released a manual strictly for this- over 2000 interdepartmental TLAs were listed...
