Hi Guys,

Just thought i would post my trial with the latest vray. I love the new ambient occlusion feature. I cant seem to get bump or displacement to work any more, i am not sure where i should up load the map to under the bump settings? I took a lots of ideas from trangs model he kindly uploaded, and the building is modeled from a magazine. i want to create a drk scene only using lights, like trangs but not sure where to begin?. thank you

WOW... I love it..

great work man, I think the vibe of the render is great..... I think you can improve on grass and stuff but the overall render is great. Nice to see the "trang" settings working whit other people

will: nice to see ya posting again bro! this i think are you best renders so far, really nicely done, lightning is great, model too, i really like it, only minor things like the wood materials from the chairs can improve and also the wheels of the chairs, the metal material from the handrail, but again is a very good work!! congrats!

do you know what, i saw your render and i didn't notice that your grass and deck were flat because your illumination is soo good.
model is nice too, but those chairs look fake. perhaps they should be a little desaturated.
one of the best exteriors i've seen here

I totally agree with you, the grass, decking & chairs definetely need improving. I just cant get bump or displacement to work. Under a bump settings do i scroll right down to the bottom right hand corner and upload image and that all i have to do???

Sorry i miss explained myself, i couldnt get trangs settings to work unfortunately, i took ideas from his modelling and how he used billboards to for reflections etc. I just used fairly default settings with vray sun. And in photoshop made the difference i changed the red levels to make the image feel warmer.

When i switch on 'detail enhancement' for some reason rendering times went from 2 hours to around 24 hours. anybody else experience this with the latest vray?

I will try and post some night renders soon.

i like the ilumination... cool one bro!!! but i think that you should work a lil' bit more in the grass texture... i'm agree with the guys!!!

I totally digg the water in the pool, great job there!


Brilliant pictures at first sight - what could be improved though (because there's always room to make it better the next time):

- remap textures on chairs (be careful with fibre direction), maybe adding fillets to the edges would make for a more realistic look
- I don't quite understand why the plasterwork has a clear reflexion, get rid of this unless the house is covered with sheet metal/plastic panels. If this is the case: work out a visible solution
- turn down the reflexions on the small windows (it works great with the glass panels at the staircase, but not so good with the other glass surfaces)
- the patio planks look wet and flat, natural wood doesn't reflect that much
- rotate the plants so that they don't face in the same direction

I like these two, but I agree that the wood texture on the lounge pieces needs some help and I think the images would look more dramatic and convincing if they were a true two-pt. perspective with straight vertical lines. But good work.

Nice job, the modeling is good g$ the lighting is very vivid.
Can you please tell me what glass material you used for the curtain wall & windows? ???

the pool and wooden texture might be improved
yet rest is just a great render
