  • Grass scene revisited

    Hi...

Had a bit of fun with the grass scene posted here earlier by Metroberlin.

Hope to see some more "unrealistic" images here on the forum... getting a bit tired of renderings of cars and interiors that tries to resemble the real thing - we all know by now that with Vray we are getting so close to reality that it is scary.

When that is said... heres a few examples of my work - that regretably falls into the same usual category of realistic interiors

    Underground station #1
    Underground station #2

Bit of a nut to crack though... it is tricky to get the lighting right when you have no source of daylight.

Looking forward to see some UNrealistic images, wether its a view from inside the belly of a whale or a city entirely made of glass...

Nice work! Agree with you wholeheartedly though it defintely takes some skill to get it real. I think the main point is tha tonce you know all the controls at that level, you can go out and easily create as much unrealistic stuff you could possibly come up with. Most famous artists started out that way by doing realistic scenes- Salvador Dali, and Van Gogh for example...

I know.... should probably have posted the raw renderings instead of the final images... but the client wanted people... always people... and tons of them... what can we do?

damn, I sure know what you mean about clients wanting those damn people (rpc) in there.....f#$%&ing clients!!....sometimes they get on my nerves for that....
and the more frustrasting thing is that I can't find anything better than that on the web as far as variety of types of people and detailed 3d models......kinda sucks...
          as for unrealistic stuff:
I think it's kinda like jujubee said - it's an artist thing where one has to go through a path to master the realism (like in painting or sculpture) and then go abdstract from there.
however I agree that it would be fun to see more artistic /NPRs renderings here......would add more variety.

          paul.

those links are awesome Jonas! Great work. If I may ask, did you create the escalators? I was looking for one (kinda being reluctant to have to create it myself.)

              Thanks jujubee

Unfortunately i cannot share the station furniture, since its part of the office model library - but it is a quite simple thing to model (as long as you dont need it to move)

no problem- I can always hunt around the net or be so ambitious as to create one myself. it's just that one looks sooo wonderfully detailed... I appreciate the reply.

it seems that your rpc people you talking about doesnt have shadows but only reflections??????? thats the main problem here. also do some post production on the humans and give em some faked GI shadows underneeth. that wil work a bit. the enviroment looks very good....

by looking longer......al the shadows are somewhat gone by the use of reflection... does that happen in real life??? cant recall....

Yes, its based on a model from an earlier post "Grazing sheep" by metroberlin.

                        Hej Jonas (!)

Your sheep scene is not available anymore - could you post it again somewhere?

                        På forhånd tak.
