Hallo, classic european cheap staircase in open lounge.

How can I get more light into a room (espesially ceiling and corners) and avoid to genetate burned areas?
I think it is about adding lights :'(, any help count .

    Model is here:http://www.mediafire.com/?nkc1mjimtmm

On my super fast computer 10h rendering time (res.1200x700).

10 hours for that render its to much time actually i did have a computer with celeron 1.86ghz 512 ram and, i learn how to manage time and renders, coul you post you settings let me see how can i help u with that. You have a render that at least 3 hours will be good to go! and avoid using to much subdivision on materials and for the gi use irradiance map as primary and light cache as secondary engine.

Re: Another interior + staircase: need help with lighting

Having looked at the model there are a couple of things I would do

I wouldn't use rect lights outside the windows. I think this was a technique used in early versions of vray and isn't necessary now. It is simply increasing the glare.

I would create some external surfaces (paving). This will (in a natural way) provide light reflecting surfaces which will bounce light up onto the ceiling - which is where you want it.

        Good luck

        David

          Dave, good tips thank you.

There is no rectangular light behind the camera, but there are rec. lights in each window.

*.Visopt is pretty default, but I use IR + LC. Subdivision on material - about 30 each.

          *.visopt is here:

          Thx dave and david.

                  To DaveReyes:
I found links to textures on this forum. The floor texture is not seamless :'(.

                  To arqestevez1:
I modeled the staircase. If you have a blue print(floor-plan) you have everything you need to model the staircase. If you have no floor-plan, you have to calculate the staircase and that is not funny (quick and easy).
I haven´t found floor-plan calculator(free) for staircases on internet yet.

Why do you need a computer when you can draw it by hand . I can model it, but I CAN´T RENDER IT.
