    1) What curtain are you referring to? If you're having issues with the material try looking around for the 2 sided material discussions here in the forum. (I'll see if I can find one for you later)

2)The splotches aren't too bad, but they are usually the result of using too low GI settings. What are you using (IM+LC or what?) once you let us know what setup you've got we can get back to you on settings. I would recommend to start -3/0 with 50 Hemispheric subs (you can play with thresholds later), and 1200 subs 8 passes (or the # of cores your comp has) for your LC to start. Also could be the result of under lighting the scene.

--Regarding your light, it seems way hot. This usually requires some give and take between your Environment-->Sun/Sky settings and your Vray Physical camera settings. To start I would recommend softening your shadows by increasing the size of your sun (12-30). Also, play with the sun/camera settings to avoid the hotspots.

3)Wine glass material--If you haven't already, go download the material library that ASGVIS offers for free and start by tweaking the glass materials they have.

4)Blue tint is probably caused by your glass color. It could also be cause by a blue light source outside your window? If it's the glass color, just remove the color and maybe set a sky color in order to get some blue sky outside.

--I would also recommend some reflectivity on your floor. This will add some depth as well as get some more light into your room, which will help render times and to avoid splotches and graininess. I would also increase the subdivs on your wood material, alot of graininess there (your GI settings might help with this as well).

--I see light cans in the ceiling, throw some lights in there too!

Good Luck, let's see some follow up images.
