Make a rectangle, subdivide the face by either using the subdivide tool (costs £££) or use the line tool and draw some lines across it. Then select everything and group it. then go inside the group and select everything (make sure the faces are the front faces by using the monochrome view). Then paint them with a random carpet texture from sketchup. Then go to the vray material editor and click on the carpet -> maps -> tick displacement -> click on the m -> change none to "noise" -> change the size to a small number (0.01-0.001).

Go to vray options and make sure the displacement box has something like "edge length 4", subdivisions "1000". play around with all the settings.

      good luck.

or you could do it this way http://forum.asgvis.com/index.php?Itemid=90&topic=5225

notes: for displacement to work all the rectangle + subdivisions must be selected and GROUPED
for it to work EVERY face must have the SAME material in the group, if you have more than one material in the group, displacement will not work.

        Re: Interior

        Trangan, thanks for sharing bro!

i really want to know where you get your models from, i had a look at those leather sofas and they are extremely detailed. Are they 3ds models? and where do you look for your models?

I really want a footstool like the one you use in your renders and made one myself in sketchup, but it doesn't have the amount of detail as yours does. can you please tell me where you got it.

        Thanks

This work passed me at side!

Fantastic job Tranganhhp!! (as usual )....one clearness of image spectacular! Congratulations!!

I agree to the colleagues (not intending to abuse) if you can to share the Skp model, would be wonderful … we learn more with these examples dissecting them than in most of manuals! fortunately we have had such luck in that aspect!…it's a healthy community that whenever he can, if self-help, and some of the most experienced dont have problems to help the rookies, like me.

                  all the best for y'all

                    Re: Interior

How much time did you have to spend with this project? Will you estimate building and texturing the model time, the rendering time and post-pro?

Wonderful illustrations, I'm sure the client was happy.

I like your images, have a very careful and lighting materials, I think they are different from most because of this, congratulations.
It's hard to get quality like this and to stand out from many artists.
