  • re rendered an old scene using Vray..

must say Vray works so much better than scanline.

also, the shadows on the garage doors dun fold very well....i guess thats a sampling prob? i used adaptive subdivision with min/max and -1/4

is there a better way to get rid of of those bad shadows artifacts? thanks

    c&c welcome

you're right about the garage doors. but other than that it looks great. what kind of lighting have you used? It doesn't look like HDRI- I'm kind a curious to see how much more realistic this image could possibly be.

        Looks very nice!

For the aa you may try 0,2 - 1,3 with a treshold of 0.05, You can try also randomize option...

All the landscape added in post? Main reason I ask is the lighting quality
is fantastic, but I wonder if you rendered w/matteshadow on the ground, if
so what color was in the background?

everything was rendered out in Max/Vray in one shot.
direct light with vray shadows (slightly beige tone), took 3 mins to render.
tree shadows're made with projector maps.

                re

great lighting....Is that a House done for "Beazer" builders? The reason am asking is because I use to do similar homes remotely for a promotions firm in Las Vegas. 150 bucks a pop...it was a good gig for something extra on the side.

150bucks a pop? Man u're cheap! Most ppl charge bout 1k an elevation, and mebbe more if its for animation. But yea, so ppl are doin it now....so sad, all the $$$ spent on software, time to learn, expensive computer, and time to render....but its gettin cheaper by the day.

Thanks for the answer, that is really nice with only 1 light.
It really has the feel of having at least a little skylight, the direct is
the only light source? That is amazing. Good work.

                      re

Alexcho...yes that's too cheap, he sent them to me in bulks of 30 or more. Each one took 3 hours or so...easy little houses. I'm sure his fee was was 800+....I got jipped but I needed the money...needless to say, it wasn't worth my time so I raised my fee and he never called me back.
