    Re: =El Risco=

Its nice enough teofas, yet I don't really understand the massive praise for this, it needs alot of work.

Eg. 1- The composition is poor, the image lacks a focal point and doesn't read well, should I be focusing on the boat or the man?

2- I know you say the boat's scale is right but it doesn't look right, sometimes you got to go by eye.

3- Your water needs alot of improving, look at some reference images. I think you should loose the spray all together because the water is too flat to generate that level of wake. Go for bubbles and ripples around the rocks which may need modelling. Also I notice a 'seam' in you water on the left, displacement issue?

Overall good start, nice lighting but a little way to go yet!

hehe dont ask this to me brother hehehe chillout brother chillout.... ;D

      it needs alot of work
      sure, its a wip

this is something i struggle with when its a personal proyect and not a comercial work, i know there are rules for this composition matters, but sometimes i dont like to follow the rules, and just follow what i like, and cause this is not a comercial proyect but a personal work, im not looking to follow composition rules, i consider this a very subjective issue, its like art, some may like, some may not.

now in this i totally agree with you, water needs lots of work, other stuffs like rocks and sky needs improvement too, also i need to make the house, well you know, wip stuff, hehe......about the boat i dont know what to do cause its really in correct scale at a far distance, maybe its the position that dosent make it look good.

thx for the feedback brother, i apreciated!

        Re: =El Risco=

        Great job, Teo.

Puffinviz has some good points. But on the other hand, I do agree with you that you should do what you like and what pleases you by breaking some rules especially it's a personal project, therefore you don't need to satisfy the client.

The boat looks small because it's in a far distance, isn't it? But I am sure it is the real size.

Composition is important. I try to use "the rule of third" whenever I can in my work, but sometimes I just don't think about it and do what I like. If the image looks nice, composition might not be necessary, especially most people don't even know about composition anyway.

One of my favorite fantasy artists is Boris Vallejo. There is not much composition in his paintings, but who cares, because his stuff is so awesome.

Anyway, looking forward to the updates.

          Teo,

I just checked and it seemed you had the composition right The main focus is the tree, isn't it? That what attracted my eyes in the first place. Good job.

          Keep it up!

the place where the tree is, its where im gonna put the house, the tree and the man are only scale reference for the rocks, as i said on my first post of this thread. thx for your time on this one ken i apreciated!

                    Good job Gallys!
Kinda reminds me of this one...

                    Teo, that's a beautiful start!!
One thing: model some real waves to explain the spray. You'd never see that kind of spindrift in a fishpond like this
                    Keep going, mate!

                    Cheers,
                    Matt

??? : hmm its only an opinion, nothing personal, i just think it could be a quality image and i'd like to help suggest ways you can make it amazing... which is surely what you want by posting it online right?
if we don't get feedback we must be doing something wrong eh?
I think a crumbly house would really set this image off, give it a bit of scale and life. Dont get me wrong tho I really like it!
