  • kitchen scene _ tipps welcome

    hey there,

i have been working on this kitchen scene since yesterday using rhino4, vray1.5.

can you give me advice on texturing, lightning, composition etc...?

Im not so happy with the floor. it has a 0.7 reflection and and 8 subdivs.
and looks a bit washed out and grainy. i have this problem quite often with wood floorings. is it the quality of the texture or the mapping?

please ignore the window and the exterior. i didnt really put an effort...

here is the image. what do you think? do you need further information to judge this? please let me know...

    <img src="http://www.flickr.com/photos/55951961@N08/5174749918" alt="kitchen"/>

what steps would you suggest for postproduction in ps?

    Thanks a lot

      Thanks!

Still if there is anything... Im thankful for every advice! Im kind of desperately watching every five minutes if somebody wrote a coment.
Im also a bit shy with my works so im really curios what people here might say...

lol, how did u get that reflection on the glass? your render is clean and i like the morning feel, i think you need to work on your composition to get more colors and mood, join evermotion and search the site forum for the section on composition, its one of my week points too, rather than just having a render with flat lighting it needs to have a mixture of different colors, something i see mostly on evermotion and not on this forum, vray is such a great tool in both rhino n sketchup, i think everyone needs to start using it fully. so far only a few people have come close on this forum, and those are the greats like teofas. but i love the simplicty of this forum, would love to start seeing more renders rialling 3ds max and so forth as wat i see on evermotion

hey again, the reflection is normal vray glass material and yes you are right! thanx. i will work on the composition some more time.
i found something on the evermotion site like "compositing". But i cant see any tutorial there. how can it be found.

by the way, what do i have to do, to have the pic directly on the forum without a link to flickr.com..?

Re: kitchen scene _ tipps welcome

hello, great render my advice for the floor first you need a good texture and second for the settings try this reflection gloss. .60 and for reflection highlights .80 for subdivision something between 16 and 20, try it out, and I see some splotchiness on the ceiling thats have to do with quality post ou settings to see how can you improve it.

Re: kitchen scene _ tipps welcome

                hey,

thanks so much you for the advice with the floor. i tried it on another image today. it is much better! for the ceiling i know i have to increase the hem subdivs to get rid of the splotches, but it makes rendering much slower. is there another way to do it? what are the ou settings?
                greets paul
