  • High irradiance settings ....blotchy result.

    Hello again,
Below is a really really unfinished scene of a kitchen and the only reason of this render was to test lighting setup....and...I bumped into this problem.

The kitchen is located in a "loft" flat and is illuminated only by a skylight coming from 2 windows which are not more that 6 meters far, but is hidden behind a little corner....I got the settings very high as you can see on the image below, but still I get these splotches...is there any way how to get rid of them??? I was thinking of adding a little fill light, but I am sure there must be a way how to solve this by using a skylight only.

Can you help me with this please???
    Thank in advance

    Regards Martin

and also better use skylight portals or vraylights for the window. just the skylight isn´t enough in most cases.....and i think in you scene it will be the main cause...

yeah. use portal lights, it will give better samples so you can lower some of those settings especially the sub-div on the secondary bounces.
