  • Diploma project - Contemporary art museum - february update

Hello everyone, I'd like to share some of my work. It's an early version of my diploma project of a museum which is set in my hometown. The rendering took place over half a year ago. It was one hell of a time. I was just dividing a week between studying for exams and finishing this for a poster.
I'll keep uploading this thread every now and then; the project has changed a lot and right now I need to fully focus on the engineering part.

So, here's the early version; as I said I had very little time for this so it is natural mistakes may occur, the grass especially, C&C are welcome.

Top notch! The mood is great and the wall texture is great!

However, I'm not sure I like the grass. They're all a bit too vertical and straight. Needs some sort of randomness to it.

Very nice yosi, very nice renders... I think the grass is the minority problem...you have very nice materials, and what I think it is the post process in PS is awesome....

          keep posting...

it is actually a pretty good image my brother, a lot of realism, though i would change a couple of things.
i think you need some flares for the lights, and maybe you went a little too far with the dirt, i mean, maybe it's too dark. in my experience, images like this look terrific because of the realism to all of us, (the render people) but, does it sell itself to a client?
            welcome hehe

thanks for the comments. yes, as I mentioned the grass is the issue here, wish I had more time back then to play a little more with it.
I'll be working on the interior somewhere in the near future, so there will be a new collection along with the whole new architectural exterior (but later, though).

the dirt on the walls was intentional, I wanted to create a very dark, industrial and sort of a noir mood, I don't like it when people want their buildings new and shiny all the time till they die, I say let the nature have it's way.

Re: Diploma project - Contemporary art museum - february update

So here I am again, after exhausting couple of weeks full of exams, I once again found little time to work on the interior part.
The project I began with is the design of a coffee shop located in the southern wing of my new museum building plan. I wanted to create certain "underground feel" of the place, choosing architectural concrete and steel as the backbone of my material base, and wood and organic greenery to soften it slightly. Insane deadlines are murderers of inspiration, which was the case of this little project.
The settings are very common - resolution over 2400, IR -6 / -4, LC / 1800, PS for post pro. C&C welcome.

                            could u answer my questions:

                            1) Did u make it using Rhino (the best...rsrs) or Sketch?

                            2) THE PLANTS (OUTSIDE GRASS AND INSIDE PLANTS). HOW DID U DO THAT PLEAAASE?

thanks for comments, just as ferrosoa commented, this is rhino gallery, so I used rhino to model the scene . as for the ivy, many of the CG society uses free utility called "Ivy generator", just run google and you've got it. Very easy to understand, a little annoying interface, but the result is worth it.
