  • Photo montage

    Hi,

After playing with the trial for a while, finally managed to convince the boss to let me have Vray with Sketchup! Here's the first photo montage it's helped me create.

Just a question, is there an easy way to simulate the curved reflections of double glazed windows?

    Sorry, don't know.

The photo montage looks so realistic that it couldn't look more realistic . I would bet that the primary school is already build.

Superb work. Can you post further info(work flow) to this project, because your work is really great.

The reflections tend not to be uniform. Like in this picture...

add just a very little bump map to it, that will do it.

              Thanks for your comments.

Work flow? I'll have to think about that a bit more. Only done this once before, so don't have an established technique and still experimenting. A few things spring to mind though...

              1. Vray lighting is HDRI due to overcast conditions
              2. Reflected buildings and trees are in model, all sourced from photos
              3. My camera isn't high end, so downgraded rendering slightly to match i.e. slight blurring
              4. Slight white colour bleeding simulated on most distant objects

Thanks, will have to have a little play around with glass only.

i had actually never thought of that... let me know if the bump does it. i have my doubts

This is a very impressive photomatch. You have matched the ambient lighting perfectly. Great job.

Please mention what V-Ray and SketchUp version you are using when posting questions.

Thanks! Seems there's no quick way of individually warping glass panels with a degree of randomness. I'm currently experimenting on some curtain walling with glazing of various colours, and the results using the noise bump seem quite decent.
