Skif, i open them with max, the truth is that i do not use it, i just use it to open max files, and then i just export them as 3ds to import them into sketchup.

i have plenty of those, i'm making the alpha channels because i need them for an urban project that i'm making.

Hey Arqestevez... how you doing??? do you speak spanish??? I´m from Costa Rica... I have a question man... i heard a lot about those alpha channels lately... what are they used for??? Just curious...

of course i do speak spanish...
los alpha channels son mapas, los ponemos en la opción de transparencia, alado del difuse, en el editor de materiales. estos mapas lo que hacen es decirle a vray que parte quieres o no quieres que sea transparente. si te fijas, en las personas que pasé, la persona es blanca, y el fondo negro; bueno, yo en sketchup hago un plano, aplico la textura de un humano y lo hago componente, y cuando se renderea, el alfa le dice a vray que haga invisible todo lo negro, y por lo tanto solo se renderea la persona... ¿me explico?

i basicly just said what the alpha images do with the transperancy... in the option next to the diffuse, to make invisible what should not be rendered.

i just want to say that im new using vray for sketchup and this is very helpfull, i am already downloading the models to study the settings and materials.
