  • Exterior shot

    Hi,

    I`m working on a exterior/interior shots of highly detailed building;

    I`ve attached some work-shots /they are completely raw/

    as You can see the facade is semi-transparent -

    I want to show more the interior, but from the exterior- closer shot - I will be playing with rect. lights in a while,

    maybe You have some tips how to give more light inside?

    /is it better putting rect.skylight portals or normal rect-for the quality, and how?

    Rect.skylight port.- this I already did and then the render starts to take like at least 24h /I quitted/;

    and for the detail exterr shot - what would be the best solution?

    IM+LC?

    detail enhancement+distance treshold 0.2-0.4+noise treshold 0.005,max -3 min 0

    the`splotchiness` on the road is due to Hdri size /I have to blur it/ and the texture;
    the gorund floor - entrance I will also have to `lighten up`.

    I`m working on Vray 1.05.30 trial, the new, beta releases are not able to handle the model size

    /and I used/had to use the 4gb patch as well/;

    Thanks for help/c&c

    Re: Exterior shot

    hi shoopa
    first of all, the dark shot is for me the best, of course, understanding that you still have tu illuminate it.
    as for your questions, i do use irradiance map + light cache. and about the interior illumination, i've used omni lights instead of rectangular lights...
    the thing there is that you have to be really super carefull with the detail, of obviously, if you still want to make the close up.
    detail is everything my friend... i´m talkin about exterior lights, cars, but good ones, and of course, some furniture and people... at least siluethes.
    i mean, i do not want to tell you what to do, this is your work, and even though it's not finished yet, it already looks great, but i think you could improve it a lot...
    i'm gonna send you another mail with a little explanation of the settings that i use.
    keep posting

      Re: Exterior shot

      hi Omar,

      thanks for Your critics,
      You`re right - the dark one, could be the best, if I work on illumination more..
      /for the truth saying - the dark one is some kind of a result during a fight with Hdri, Illumination and background.../;
      the same about detail - I know there is a lack of it in the surrounding /these buildings I took from GEarth f.e., they are just faces with photos..I dont have much time to upgrade them - so I`ll try to fix them in post pro-Ps etc or just quick try to do a normal maps of them and bump a little..;;/;
      lens need correction, ground =road -pavement, better trees...people surely will appear - post pr.
      I`ll see with cars - sometimes I`dont like them because of the car paint effect /I know this can be also corrected/, I`ll try to find some graphic solution for them...
      with the final rend I`d love to have more graphic like effect with the base as vray render..
      /will see if I make it/;
      But the main topic - building - Is very highly detailed, /soon I will post some closeups/
      I`m fighting with it for few months now /and the new vray, su memory limitations/;
      Hopefully I`m closer to the end now..
      I`m detailing the surrounding and some interior stuff+lights,
      I will post an exterior render of it when I`m done.

      ps.
      the building is actually my diploma /2007/,
      I`m upgrading it now for my portfolio and some other stuff.

        Re: Exterior shot

        so, you became an architect with this project?
        i'm actually also working on my thesis project. it was an urban project, and right now i'm really, really working hard, so i can show the proposal to the mayor.
        youre right about the memory limits of sketchup... but if we have order, and hide some layers, ans specially, if we know how to use photoshop, we can divide the render in sections and blend it all in ps...
        good luck with your work shoopa.
        it's looking great
