that's a really cool image. I especially like your use of colors. it's also refreshing that it is a non-photorealistic rendering. nice job man!

          that's awesome, Metin.....really cool!!!

I love the design and the rendering itself - and as rerender put it, we all know the feeling....

Thanks very much guys! Much appreciated!

I often like to escape from photorealism, as it gives you more freedom of expression, because you don't have to follow the rules of realism. If you visit my site, you'll see that at least 80 percent of my work is NPR or at least semirealistic. I love to use the environment lighting, direct lights and GI of Vray, combined with stylistic modeling and simple texturing. There's another advantage: it's fast, which is deadline-friendly!

About the feeling: yep ... I haven't done a backup since months now. Will have to do that real soon again!

            Cheerio,

Excellent style Metin. I love it. I especially like the glow from the LCD screen on the table - nice touch.

Out of curiosity what do media do you guys use to backup? I'm considering a DVD+RW (4.7GB per disk). Right now I'm using 700MB CD+R but when one work folder is over 700 megs it get confusing.

yep..my comp crashed last friday and a dll got corrupted so windows couldn't start up again...luckily the IT guys at my firm are pretty good and got me back up and running in about 1 hour - I guess that was a warning from the "powers to be" to back up....hehehe

yeah, I'm using the same thing - plus we also use tapes for the server back up stuff. DVDs are good they just take a long time to burn and sometimes the are corrupted or can't be read - there are + and - types...it's kinda confusing, since there is no main type quite yet....

Thanks Brim! I'm thinking about buying a harddisk and installing that in the computer of a good friend. Then I'm going to create a mirror of my harddisk on that one and synchronize it daily with the remote harddisk using my fast ADSL connection. Advantage: no extra harddisks or other backup peripherals over here and if my house burns down to the ground I'll still have my work at a different location.

                  Cheers,

                  Metin

By the way guys, if you like NPR with VRay, check out my topic about the comic backgrounds I've created using VRay! I'm going to post it after writing this message.

                    Cheers,
