  • A few houses exteriors

I am not really happy with my efforts. I think there is still a lack of photorealism, and I want tips on how to improve it.

I hope you guys can comment on each house

    House ONE

    HOUSE TWO

    HOUSE THREE

The models look really good as does the scene. The only thing that doesnt look right to me is the flat paint on the house's themsevles, where you have used a texture it looks a little big.

yes, but what kind of bump? After all... it IS a flat wall

you can also use some textures with noise; it's faster than bump

Unfortunately walls are never flat, I should know that coz I'm making furniture that often doesn't fit
Have a really close look at exterior or even interior wall, it has a whole bunch of bumps or imperfections, check out this link http://www.google.ca/images?q=wall+t...w=1366&bih=610 and try to find something that will work in your scene.

Also I would make a signature like 20 times smaller. In fact I would actually erase it but if you really feel that it should be there then I recommend to make it a lot smaller.

                Re: A few houses exteriors

                hello,

nice start but i think theres some room for improvements.

                - its minor but its annoying, ies lights on during the day... really? i know they look cool but only use them when needed, here they are not.
                - saturation, your colours are far too vivid, especially the grass. needs adjusting considerably
                - your composition isnt really thought through. image 3 for me is the most successful, it needs some PS to the right side of the building and a little below the tree, but its much more convincing.

positives, your models seem clean and well made, apart from the garden furniture but i bet there sourced else where!

make the changes above and i guarantee they look far more convincing!

                kind regards

                  Re: A few houses exteriors

I like image 3 best - mostly because there's the most detail on the house and less landscape. For your other images, I would crop out the landscape more, since there is not much there to see, looks empty. I agree about the wall lights during the day = not very realisitic.
The grass looks nice, but in some shots there is strong tiling (image #2) again, cropping would help here.
