Some personal project. The main struggle was to get the funky wall details render good with lowest possible time
2h for IM and 3h for render.
Had some fight with floor and leather couch material

But overall what do you guys think.

Very nice. Great whites, clean glossies. How you managed to extract all these tiny details by using the IM is beyond me.

My only gripe, like last time, is the stairstep effect in high-contrast areas. Did you try activating subpixel mapping?

I guess that could be solved by rendering at twice the resolution and downsampling but this may be a problem rendertime-wise.

hmmm, no supbpixel mapping was off. I'll try with on.

ok i tried with sub on and no difference.

It's an interesting one - would doing double res and downscaling be the same as just rendering with a bicubic anti-aliaser since this is kind of what photoshop would be doing? Is it just always going to be a problem of trying to render anything with sharp filtering and diagonal edges?

          Very nice and clean render!
Whites are great but honestly a bit too white for my taste -I like to see the travel of light, how it is more brighter closer to the windows and light travels and fades as go away. Of course this is taste =)
How were you able to get all these details on the mouldings with the IM?

I like it, aboou the composition because you have brown floors and brown furniture and they are on right (very unusual related with the fireplace) I would have an area rug to define better the space
about the materials, the floor looks good but the leather is too shiny and slippery.

Just word of caution... those settings are a bit off when using lot of blurry REFRACTION (if someone would like to use some blinds with thickness and some blurry refraction material than it's gonna be tough.) It's better with 2sidedvray mat but as we know it not always do the job right.

Nice!, u have managed to capture minute detalis of the ceiling quite well. I think chandelier is looking little dark, may be adding some light thr( may be yellow) can add little drama to the scene.. specially to the ceiling

The details on the ceiling are probably captured because of the DE and less so the hsph. Just curious how you got it so clean. How does it look without DE?

may be AO pass.. i generally give very thin black vray edge texture for such objects & control opacity in post.. keeping high setting can waste lot of time

I really like it! As everyone has said, lovely & clean.

It does seem slightly unnatural for a room with such a dark floor/furnishings to be so bright, but that is exactly what a client would ask for so good job!

Yeh details = DE. Will be triggered when the machine is rendering the tiny details (ignored while calculating IM). Its when the BF enters the house and says hello! Me thinks.

                              Very beutiful render.
