  • Interior for the robotic cleaner commerciaL shots

    Hi guys,
attached is one of the interior shots weve done for one company producing robotic cleaners.
PLEASE RIGHT CLICK TO SEE BIGGER IMAGE - forum resizes...

I had a very nice glare setup for this scene, but unfortunatelly its layer was not saved within the VRIMG :-/
    Anyway, hope you like it.
Will post more shots once they r rendered.
Comments and critics are much appreciated.

    Best Regards
    Martin

I'll reply Really lovely materials, the wooden floor and rug look great! Have you modelled the cloud lights yourself? The lighting works very well too, HDRI?

        lol thanks!

Most of the models are from designconnected.com site, but i ve tweaked most of their mats to my liking
Some of the models are from Bertrand Benoit, which of course, dont need tweaking t all

For rug i used Bertrands carpet bit and forest pack for its scattering.
Wooden floor is a texture from cgsource....the biggest texture in the scene so we gould go really into detail in certain places. Sometimes i wonder how Thomas Suurland makes these

Ive used HDRI from Peter Guthrie to light this one + i added some large plane lights behind windows (with affect diffuse and affect specular on) and i used a little different tints for them.

I have to say the worst part was to get the GI right for the small details while being able to use IM/LC and thus getting the image render noiseless and still within decent rendertimes.

Id love to model all the models myself but we had to buy the stuff to cut the production times.

PS: cool avatar you have vray fur???

Just checked out the carpet thing from Bertrand and will be giving that a go We mainly do office interiors and not many rugs but will have a play 'for fun'!

Thought the flooring might be a cgsource one, they have brilliant textures on there don't they? Of course they don't look anything without the right material set up and lighting which is down to you!

We're the same with our models, we get to model some stuff occasionally which is great but for speed we often download manufacturers models and adjust them or buy them.

We need to invest in some of Peter's HDRI's, I've been thinking that for a while as we tend to just use vray sun and it lacks something extra....

Thanks re my avatar Yes an abundance of vray fur I bought some Christmas cards last year with something similar on and thought I could do better, lol!

Great image, my only comment is that the floor colour and cushions do not look well together, lovely material though.

            1. I would make the parquetry floor a bleeched white parquetry.
            2. Have the cushion and robotic cleaner colours a similar red.

At least then you will see the robotic cleaner, - I intially thought it was an ashtray first - I had to take another look.

            DOF is nice and subtle.

            Cheers

              Noted....thanks!
you re right! I have a conference call with the client today so ill see what we can do about this.
Every shot will be acompanied with a graphics such as the one below so the problem with the object "blending" is not going to be that drastic BUT i definitely see what you mean and i may suggest that to client although it may mean i am goinna have to rerender these two ))

                  Thanks Prateek!
Rendertime was around 10 hrs on a single i7 comp, rendersize A4/300dpi

the blue graphics bits will still need some work, this is just a mockup.
