  • Three Story Apartment Building

Here is an apartment building that I am working on. The trees are blocking the building, but the landscaping plan is accurate, and the client picked the view. I am generally happy. I am going to render it again, fixing a couple things, and without the trees that are blocking the building. Any other comments and suggestions are welcomed.

    Looking good Bobby,
    few points on my side:
    - i would scatter more foliage of the types you have there...just to thicken it
    - maybe little less saturation on the foliage and lighter sky

Looking good. Just wondering if there is too much tree in front of the main building..Does it block it too much ?

Great image, I wouldn't say the sky is too saturated, probably a little too busy with the clouds.

I often refer to archectural photographers website for a bit of a reality check, ie. with real world colours and lighting etc.

Our local architectural photographer legend (imo) is Scott Burrows: http://www.aperture.com.au/

Also I find if the building/shot is quite busy a clean sky works best and visa-versa.

                Hi,
Nice image - I agree about sky. I think the many forgeground trees are hiding the building.

Yes. I am going to remove the foreground trees. The sky was something I grabbed, and dropped in, at the last second. It isn't a typical sky I use and I don't like it either. Does anybody have any good setup for multiscatter grass? I think multiscatter is good for natural environments, but not well kept lawns, at least I haven't accomplished it yet. I wish my Autograss worked!

Looks pretty good. The scale of the ripples in the water looks a bit large. Out of curiosity what method are you using to get the soft/bloom look?

The water was a last minute deal and I didn't have much time to work on it. I use the NIX plug-in for Photoshop to get the soft focus effect.

like everybody else, the saturation is too high, the sky IMO is out of scale as well and I would take/replace those red trees since the building is pretty much red...the trees on left side are off too, they should be smaller.

The color of the brick looks too different in each rendering that it looks like you have a complex of 4 building in there...about the water, it needs bump and the color has to be darker (dark green), I will put some wildgrass around the pond too.
there is a tree in view 4 is not casting shadow and another one is too close to the windows.

Good eye Fernando, thanks. I did notice all you mentioned, but I was already up for 2 night trying to get the job done. I have a question for you guys. Is there a mathematical equation that will change one RGB to another in Photoshop. It seems there would be, but for the life of me, I can't figure it out. If I have an RBG of 32, 200, 96, and I want it to be Red, how would I accurately cange it (other than replace color, which is the slider)?
