  • recent competition work

Here's an image of a project I did recently. I used a HDRI sky map and a warm sun light on a 3 day competition project. That was the first time doing this technique so the colors kinda messed up. But since the client liked that effect and there was no time to change it....
Anyway, I'll post some more images later.

Look real nice Marc. When you get a chance you should try it with area shadows to get softer tree shadows on the ground. Like your client, I think the colors are fine. You must be having lots of fun with your Dosch skies eh?

Area shadows You know I started out in the first test series with area shadows. It was soooo sloooowww, I immediately kicked them out again. Maybe someday when I have these magical four processor machines here at my office (by the way what ever happened to those things?)
And another thing about area shadows: you have to mave your direct light far far away in order to make the shadows at least seemingly parralel.

Bur yes I agree, this would look much better with area shadows

oh forgot to tell that this was a three day project. That means doing a 36 hours workweek in three days. With this architect the design is made and changed whenever they see a preliminary visual.
          Here are two more.
