A couple of my students just finished this short film that was rendered in vray. It took a long time to get off the ground with rigs and artwork, but once they got rolling, it was completed in just over 2 months.
Both of the guys are animators, not tech folks, so there a few artifacts. Some of the noise is from just not having enough time in the schedule to let the frames cook for 2 hours.
They had no previous experience with vray, and very little with rendering. I think it's a testament to vray that folks just starting out can get decent looking results.
