nice. The low view make the building look small, because the tables, look big. Why did you chose that view? Why did you do it for free?Bobby Parker

I dont know if the client is really authentic.. but they said they are big from Germany. & they said they have nearly 7 to 10 images to do in a week. They said they want me to do a sample project to check my quality & compatibility working remotely.. so i did this as a pitch with a hope to get some continuous work.. I agree about camera angle because chairs etc looking big from that angle, If i will get some positive outcome, will definitely give more time to this project & rework on camera angles..
I between, i have not discussed any commercial part yet, any idea how much this image worth? Thanks for your feedback Bobby!

I would slap a big watermark across it. I usually point people to my on-line portfolio for samples of my work. Good luck getting the work!Last edited by glorybound; 03-09-2011, 01:33 PM.Bobby Parker

free work almost never work!! It would be very difficult to get a good fee because you already worked for free...you should charge what you have to charge and the extra because they are new clients is an additional view maybe..
they are going to find somebody else for free with the same trick"I have 7 to 10 per week".show me the money!!

Hey.. i m confused , i dont know if we will call this as a free project.. here is their 1st email---
"Hello,
my name is Naomi from a German 3D Archictecure Agency.
We build up professionel 3D-Interior and 3D Exterior Pictures, Animations and 360° Pictures.
You offer your service in this field.
But we are not sure about you, your service and your experience.
If we check your pictures and our "standard" we are not sure if you can make it.
At this moment one of our Supporters cheat us, so we have for 2 clients open orders which need to be finished last friday...2 exterior picture highend-quality/rendering) like our excamples.
We are searching now for a serious supporter, which get us out of the situation.
1. This means - starting now.
2. Very hard job - finishing one complete picture - in one day (modeling, checking details, texture - enviroment, overwork, photoshop work etc.). Normally you have 1 week for such projects.
3. We are not sure about your quality, so we need to take 2 supporters for the project. But also we need to pay you. So we pay if we can finish all till tuesday - 7.00 o clock German time.
Normal Projects you can negotiate with the Manager, about the payment - before a project starts.
4. If you made a good job and after you get paid, its possible to join our team. Normally our last supporter for that direction get about 5-8 pictures a week. More are possible.
If you are interested:
1. Please reply with your correct datas to this mail first. Later you get our complete company datas.
2. Your Country time difference to Germany.
2. Skypename + time when a manager from us, can call you in skype - language: english - soon as possible. 15.00 o clock German time today?
3. 2-3 reference pictures you made - must be the same quality like in our reference .
Regards,
Naomi "
SO this was their email, attached image i did in 6 hours. Have i done any thing wrong? is this a kind of exploitation which is common? I dont know, i was too excited to get this opportunity.. .. still waiting for payment.. they saying they wil pay 14 days after client approve image,

this is so bad on so many levels! again someone wants something for free! even if you don't charge for the time you spend on doing it... do they think that computers run on air? no it' electricity that costs ! But hey everyone of us I'm sure did such thing at some pointLuke Szeflinski

lol, with no watermark. For all you know they took this image sold it to a client and will not pay you. Not a smart move. Sorry.

Would be interesting to know who this "client" is. I instantly put them on my black list. I really hate that. Never work for free! For a serious pitch the client usually will pay at least something - 500,1000,2000€/$.
But I hope you learned your lesson.

OK i got a reply, they want me to start on other projects, they saying they will pay me 250$ per image ( what a price!) I have asked them to pay for this image 1st.. (something is better thn nothing..) after which i will decide if im interested in their other project. They saying no one in Europe pays any advance, payment is done only after 14 days of final submission, secondly they saying they will not accept image with watermark because with our watermark they cant show image to their client for feedback. PHEW!

This reads very much like a scam. That email should have gone straight to the bin, if only because it is written in such an unprofessional manner. What's the name of the company, by the way?
If you end up not being paid, you should post all of Naomi's details here. I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't even in Germany. It sounds all made up to me.Check my blog

Lukx, I still think the business is okay but I too feel the competition. 250 per image is not acceptable though, but I think the quality of this particular rendering could be improved... I try to get clients who demand higher quality but are willing to spend a few bucks for my work.
