  • Merry Christmas Pic

Here is a pic that I finally was able to finish before a holiday. C & C always welcome.

    Used low Vray settings
About 30 lights in scene....most on the trees to get glows.
The wood floor planks were the nicest ones I could find.

    Hi snorthul,
Only things that are odd to me is the milk and the tensile on the wall. The milk looks like piles of sugar and the tensile isn't random as I've seen it. The reflections on tensile are always a little of this a little of that, not the same amount everywhere.

You could probably also give the cookies a crumbly bump map.

Isn't the "milk" a pot of sugar?

are you people blind....sugar. sheesh. anyone can see its salt. hehe
yeah. the milk is probably the only thing there. and i agree about the tinsle. what about the lighting on the wall behind the xmas tree. been a while since ive seen the effect of xmas bulbs lighting a wall (hmm. been almost a year now i think hehehe) but im not sure if it looks like that or if its just all one big mash of colors mixed

I still think the "milk" is sugar, to put on the X-mas cookies. The white part on top is a part of the glass sugarpot, not a reflection/rafraction of the "milk".

Hmmm ... I doubt your explanation of the word sugar is the same as mine.

                Oh no... not that

Sugar on top of sugar is a stimulant

Hmmm... now I'm confused... how can you know my explanation of sugar

Anyway... I think the classic picture is cookies and MILK. If this isn't the case then it looks good for sugar

I guess "interpretation" would have been a better word. Anyway, I believe it was my own mind that interpreted it that way, sorry.

Incredible ... it just struck me how many posts Da Elf has already written on this forum. I guess we can call you a serious VRay forum addict, dan't we? Is there someone that can compete with your number of posts? Maybe Torgeir/EGZ or Goncalo? Hmm, I haven't heard of good ol' Goncalo for a while over here, or did I miss his recent posts? Hope he's not gone.

                    Cheers,

                    Metin

Are there any countries that do not celebrate Christmas or have some form of Christmas? Just curious, since this is such an internationally diverse forum.

well. dont just look at it as countries but also as religions. there are a few who dont celebrate the original meaning of xmas but who would still give gifts since that part of xmas has become more and more appealing
