Thanks. Other than a flat surface, and some plants and chairs, it was pretty boring. The DOF was an attempt to add something interesting.

Looks good, but feels quite dark and dull to me. Why no direct light ? or at least a brighter image...

I would show some direct sun light there, this is the point to get a view of a roof deck and selling it to the residents of the building(In my opinion).

yes. I brought the direct light back it was on over-site (I was adding an HDRi for diffused light). I'll post an update later.

Yes. the only way I can compete, is by having a robust library.

Much better although I agree that the DOF maybe a little too distracting, if you are unhappy with the interest maybe a slight crop of the image? Other than that the new lighting and people are looking good.

less reflections to the windows glass, more refraction and add random curtains. Also because of too dark shadow parts - skylight more blue and a little stronger.
Or may be different angle of the sun...

Yes. I was planing this in post, to give them a little depth.

The viewing angle was requested by the client, so it'll have to stay. the deck will actually only get sun mid-day, because it is in the middle of other high-rises.

Personally, I love it when they sit behind me and choose the worst possible angle - not that has anything to do with your thread - but it really gets me sometimes! Goes along with..."can you make the image more crisp" or the glass more real.

When I was writing the brief, from his request, I cringed. After I thought about it, and considered his need, it makes sense. It gets me when I have a house, and the architect requests views, that will never be scene by the human eye. I hate the SE ISO

What's the clients take on DOF? I'd definitely remove it, as it looks more like the lens condensed, than anything else.
