the lights are skylightsportals. enviroment is just a white color with multiplier 1. the photonmultiplier ist also 1. i don´t want to change too many settings because after a while you don´t see through anymore. now it´s very easy to setup a lightning like this nearly blind with just a few settings.

all you have to keep in mind is what goncalo did with his testfile.

there are opening through which energy is comming (subd. photons). it´s like in lightscape where you have to define the openings and the windows and lightscape is pushing the "energy" trough it. higher subd. (2000-3500) gives you better rsults but take much longer and with greater openings or more than 5 lights you machine maybe run out of memory and crashes (plleeaaase vlado, fix that ...please !!)

the two main settings are the search radius (how blurry the photons are coming back from the surface) and the max density, some kind of "grid" like in the radiosity engines. a finer grid gives you finer details (1-0.5 depending on your time and RAM). the search radius should be 2 to 5 times the max desniy, depending on how "sharp" the solution should be or mabye you see some artifacts. i leave all other settings (multiplier, enviroment etc.) at 1, that gives me the best balance from real world. the irradiance settings is like ever. the higher, the better

then i normale don´t use stored shadows. non-stored shadows take much longer and you must use a high subd. but it gives you better shadows.

    goncalo, vlado....hope you don´t mind.....

Metroberlin,if I use only multiplier 1.0 for all (i think is the best) I have to increase dark multiplier in some cases very very much, near 20 or more
I dont have any problem but i dont know this is correct
How do you increase dark in your renders?

Nice bath...it's big as a dining room....damn, i like big bath!!!!
This is also really nice: the detail i like most is the tiny distance between floor and wall.

@ Neo: the positioning of light is simple: do you remember the technique used by Cecofuli in his bath? Put a rectangle light on every opening.

I also used this technique ion my old bath (I'm Valesavex.....)

            Ciao

                  Metroberlin, a question:
can you post the texture did you use for make the marble? Is awesome!
Is a free texture, a buyed texture or a self made texture?

                  thank you

Metroberlin, have any diference between irradiance and photon map (in terms of quality, course), or just render times?

Impresive.... goog work. Seem to be inspired in some John Pawson projects.

                          Congrats.
