your interiors are excellent - and although the exterior image is good, it isnt as convinving as your interiors , which I think is due to the difficulty in making PR externals in Vray rather than your skill.

In general I don't usually get into doing externals, I never have the time resources to do a great job but I quite like that external it certainly isn't realistic but that was never the intention. I still use FR, unfortunately prior to SP2 the AA was holding back Stage 1, we had a large project that required solid AA and RC/SP1 just wasn't up to scratch. FR has amazing depth to it, the next release will be "the" release for it much like 1.5 for Stage0. I'm interested in seeing what 1.1 contains for Vray because it will tough competition between the next version of FR and the current version of Vray.

I suppose what I was trying to say was that interiors can look 'ultra' photo realistic and extremely convincing and although Pr isnt always the point of an image I think PR images still impress people and is a selling point for sure. But on the external side of arch-vis theres not that many images ive seen that have that cutting-edge ultra photo realistic look to them, I suppose thats down to the fact that outside subtle lighting is often lost due to the power of the sun and the Gi engines which rely on bounces of light dont have much to bounce off of.

True, externals in the shade are far easier to do because of that. I have a hard time balancing direct and ambient light on externals. Lighting with HDRI only usually solves this but then there is the hard shadow problem a render passes approach just doesn't fit into our internal workings.

This image I had great difficulty balancing the direct light, I had time date info I had to keep to and it proved time-wise impossible to match properly. The left side of the building is way too bright
Plus the perspective is off but I've never had a photo without barrel distortion. A raytraced camera with barrel distortion settings would be nice.

Hy Richard, in first congrats for this great works!
Second, i have a question. In the bathroom image, the bathroom towel are great, excellent modeled and excellent rendered. I have a big photorealistic problem in a bathroom scene, can you share the material/textures settings for the towels please? And how do you have modeled the towels?

                      thanks very much

I find the brightest interior shot to be the best. One very small point though: the legs of the chairs seem to have blackfeet, except for the leg closest to the bottom of the image: this one seems to be white.

                          hi richard,
                          you are a master!

vray vs fr. I know they are two great softwares but for you, wich is faster to setting and to achieve a good result? (in the interiors and in the exteriors)
