  • V-Ray Toon

I know you guys are not fans of this style, but I thought I would share, anyway. I rendered out a toon pass, and colored it in Photoshop.

I sometimes like this kind of naif/cartoon-like illustration as well; IMHO there is only a bit strong noise or ps effects in the shadows area, a little bit less could be better

how do you draw the extended wireframe lines?

I just pick a 1px brush and use shift/pick to get a straight line. I was asked, by the architect, to do some illustrations, but they are out of design fee. I can do these in about an hour (Revit model provided). sometimes I feel guilty, like I'm doing the "real" artists injustice.

Love the painted in patterns on the chairs. Always amazing with what one can get away without it being really noticeable.

I understand why you added this caveat, but I think this kind of rendering/illustration is quite important. All the beautiful photorealistic renderings are wonderful, but I think it is important to remember that the purpose of architectural renderings is representation. And I don't think you have to feel guilty because these renderings serve the purpose.

Thanks for sharing this particular rendering! I like it quite a bit and am always interested to see different styles of representation.

last, but not least.... I wouldn't want to do these everyday, but once in a while, they are fun to do.
